Emma joined Fair Work Lawyers in early stages of the Covid chaos of 2020, and quickly proved herself to be a reliable, dependable and hard-working solicitor with a passion for industrial relations and employment matters.
With a background in both commercial legal practice and industry associations, Emma is client driven and focuses on achieving optimal outcomes for her clients. She helps a diverse range of clients in a vast array of industries including building and construction, social and disability services, architecture and professional practices, manufacturing, retail, tourism and hospitality.
Although experienced in wide range of matters, Emma’s particular focus is on industrial and employee relations. She relishes the opportunity to help clients navigate through the murky and ever-changing IR/ER landscape. She has excellent research skills and is able to identify, digest and make sense of even the most complex research tasks.
She has extensive experience in areas including, but not limited to:
- Enterprise agreement negotiation, approval and interpretation;
- Award interpretation and coverage advice;
- Termination and disciplinary advice, including unfair dismissal and general protections advice/representation;
- Redundancy advice;
- Transfer of business advice;
- Contract drafting and interpretation;
- Policy drafting and interpretation;
- Restraint of trade advice and litigation; and
- Apprentice and trainee advice.
With a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) with Distinction, and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours, Emma combines strong academic performance with commerciality in her legal practice in order to provide practical advice to business.
